Abstract

This paper aims at criticizing research methods of Muslim grammarians, lexicographers and interpreters. In this paper, it is explained that how grammarians wrongly travelled the path of linguistic researches and kept aloof from principles pertinent to research in the field of language under the influence of Aristotelian logic and mixed syntax with the science of logic, which is not compatible with the spirit of language. Then it is explained that how these researches influenced lexicographers and finally which scientific heritage was converted to the research tool of the Quran’s interpreters. In this paper, the understanding of the Quran’s interpreters of the language of this noble book is questioned. To substantiate this claim, lexical structure and grammar of Hebrew and Aramaic languages are used in this paper.
