Effect of Extract of toothpicks in the bacterium Staphylococcus aureus isolated from patients with gingivitis

Abstract

The study was conducted to determine the impact of the hot aqueous extract of the plant on a toothpick Staphylococcus aureus isolated from patients with gingivitis in comparision with the effect of some antibiotics on it.It was Collected (50) a sample of patients who suffer from inflammation of the gums from the center of the specialized teeth in Diyala province for the period from 1/2/2009 until 1/6/2009.The diagnosis of studied bacteria on the qualities AGRO, microscopic examination, growth media differential tests and biochemical standard have adopted. The method of deployment disk was used to the screening test sensitivity pharmaceutical and test effective inhibitory of the extract in different concentrations (20%, 30%, 40%, 50%).It has obtained 15 (30%) isolates of Staphylococcus aureus by 4 isolates from males (26.66%) and 11 isolated from females (73.33%) .The most age groups involved are (50-59 years) increased by (33.3%).There is no significant difference between the incidence of bacterial isolates, the use of toothpicks (P = 0.37), bleeding of the gums (P = 0.36), and smoking (P = 0.37).The extract of toothpicks showed concentration (50%)with greater effect of concentrations than the other as the inhibition was (9.86) mm with highly significant diversities at the level of probability (P <0.05), as well as the existence of significant diversities between the impact of Toothpicks concentrations (30%, 40%, 50%) and sensitivity of isolates to Amadada Alvancomisn and Rbnsleyn. It has showed that the higher concentration of the aqueous extract toothpicks to plant the effect was more on the bacteria Staphylococcus aureus isolated from gingivitis as compared with some types of antibiotics
