The effect of Using Written and Audio-Verbal Feedback on Methods of Teaching Subject at the University Level

Abstract

Abstract
Feedback is a major component in teaching process. It is the basic foundation on which the proficiency of learners can be determined as it is an ideal variable to assess the teachers in the class.
The new trends of teaching discern the teacher as a guide and supervisor to organize teaching process and learning it in the light of utilizing the modern techniques and styles with emphasis on the progress of technology.
On the basis of the inconsistent results concluded by the previous studies which conducted on the timing of submitting the feedback. The researcher has investigated the effect of using written and audio-verbal feedback on the college students achievement.
It is hypothesized that :
There is no statistical significance difference at (0.05) between the mean achievements scores of the first experimental group who received the audio-verbal feedback and the control group who did not receive any type of feedback.
There is no statistical significance difference at (0.05) between the mean achievements scores of the second experimental group who received the written feedback and the control group who did not receive any type of feedback.
There is no statistical significance difference at (0.05) between the mean achievements scores of the first experimental group who received the audio-verbal feedback and the second experimental group who received the written feedback and the control group who did not receive any type of feedback.
In order to verify these hypotheses, the researcher has developed a test which consists of 50 multiple-choice items. The test is given to a jury who have agreed on its validity for administration. Then, the test is given to a sample of 90 college students.
After analyzing the data statistically, the researcher found out that:
Written feedback is a more effective technique in teaching Methods than the audio-verbal feedback.
In the light of the findings of this research, relevant conclusions are drawn and a number of recommendations and suggestions are made.
