The Effect of Critical Precepts on Poetic Output: A Reading of Critical Heritage: Al-Mudafar Al-Alawy as an Example

Abstract

The critical precepts in Mudafar b. Fadel Al-Alawi,s book Nafdat Al-Arreeth Fi Al-Gareeth are a critical methodology to direct the poet in the right direction to set right his creative work and to be a model to be imitated. This paper exposes the faces of linguistic performance and the lapses of the ancient and modern critics and poet. Al-alawi tried hard to highlight them in order to avoid and abandon them because poetry is part of the linguistic system whose prosodic rules cannot be ignored or overlooked.
