AbstractThe additional letter to Grammarian , is that letter that using and omitting it is the same in the Arabic sentence pattern. It is an additional given according to the grammatical industry and the requirements of the Arabic sentence. In meaning it is to strengthen and to emphasize the speech. The Holy Qur'an has descended according to the speech patterns of Arabs and the styles they use. The Grammarians are often , careful , to say an increase in the text of the Qur’an.. Therefore they denote or interpret , when necessary, as in the case of the letter ( ) which is said to add it, depending on the abnormal reading. This idea is carried out by old grammarian readers.Ibn Malek who was one of the latecomers opposed this opinion and claimed that ( ) is to be added. This opinion was not accepted by Abu Hayyan as well. This paper tracks old and latecomer Grammarians towards adding ( ) to patterns especially Ibn Hayyan and readers and to present their views and to evaluate and criticize them.
