Abstract This study deals with the phenomenon of repetition in Obaidullah bin Qais Alrukiet's poem Thirty-Ninth, the longest divan poems, as with iteration of this poem, it is striking in comparison with all divan poems. The study focuses on the poem's connotative meaning, objectives and its impact on the construction of the text. Furthermore, this study addresses some issues of stylistics that express the psychological state of the poet in relation with the internal relations of the poem; the main issues of discussion are the following: 1. Repetition, style, and topical denotation 2. Rates of repetition and topical denotation 3. Stylistics Signs 4. The function of language 5. The effect of repetition in the rhythm 6. Abstract This approach aims to study the female mutiny for the pivotal character in story of shredded sails and its conflict to pull out its freedom and practice its existence far from the ferrous forms which has authority frames which representing by (paternal structure – social growth – the habits and traditions – the civilized and cultural retardation) which press on the woman's life and her behavior, so we find her release its protestation shout, it is a story forming an psychological and social document can not leave it to measure Arab woman's reality in certain stage. This research had adopt explain the concept of the mutiny , then study of this theme effect in personality of (Khitam) the pivotal character in story of shredded sails for its writer Susan Mustafa, by its analyzing with applying examples from the story which is the study pivot.

Summary The Poetical etiquette is the artistic and concentric form, its, at the same time, the characteristic of the text and its writer. On the contrary, the text can’t achieve its ability of programmatic, architectonic, feelings and emotions. This means, the poetical etiquette is the foundation stone for the structure of the poetical text which discover the identification of the poetic personality, that has a stability and commitment of the poet without changing his method.

ABSTRACT This study examines the relationship between morphological Complexity and vocabulary Knowledge in Iraqi EFL learners. Morphological awareness refers to the learners knowledge of morphemes and morphemic structure, allowing them to reflect and manipulate morphological structure of words, and has been shown to be an important predictor of L1 vocabulary. However, its relationship to vocabulary development in the L2 has to date received only limited attention. The main research question in the present study concerns whether greater morphological awareness will correlate with larger vocabulary size in the L2 learners studied.

ABSTRACT It is usually known that comprehension is a skill that comes from experience and it is required to be continually improved by means of different kinds of reading material. Reading comprehension is the process of constructing meaning from text. The goal of all reading instruction is finally targeted at helping a reader comprehend text. Reading is a receptive language process. It is the process of recognition, interpretation, and perception of written or printed materials. Reading proficiency plays a great role in understanding a written statement accurately and efficiently. The problem of the present study is that English foreign language learners (henceforth. EFL) face difficulties in constructing meaning when they read literary text. It is believed that constructing meaning is the goal of comprehension. True comprehension goes beyond literal understanding and involves the reader's interaction with the text. Chastain (1988:235) visualizes that literature is no less reading, because it includes writing at a higher artistic level than does a note from friend or any ordinary text. The main differences between reading literature and nonliterary text lies in constructing meaning, interpreting and analyzing the text. The main purposes of this study are to investigate the students performance in the College of Education (henceforth, CE) at the university of Tikrit in the area of comprehension, find out the differences in the number of errors, identify and classify the students errors. To achieve the purpose of this study, a written diagnostic test has been built. A sample of 50 students has been selected from third year students in CE. Students responses have been analyzed, classified and discussed. The results of this study reveal that EFL learners make errors of different sources of the test. It is also clear that EFL learners encounter more complex and problematic errors at the second part of the test (literary text) and that their performance is inefficient in this area. This study is limited to the third year College students at the Departments of English – at the CE of the University of Tikrit during the academic year 2010/2011.

Ghazal Poetry Between Home and Exile

ABSTRACT A ghazal may be understood as a poetic expression of both the pain of loss or separation and the beauty of love in spite of that pain. The form is ancient, originating in sixth century Arabic poetry. The structural form of the ghazal is similar in stringency to that of the Petrarchan sonnet. In its style and content it is a genre which has proved capable of an extraordinary variety of expression around its central themes of love and separation. The study tries to shed light on the influence of this traditional poetic form on modern American poetry and examines some examples of ghazal as presented by three different poets. Section one.i: presents a general introduction to ghazal poetry: its meaning, form, style, themes, origins, in addition to its regeneration in modern American poetry. ii: Focuses on the Kashmiri-American poet Agha Shahid Ali whose ghazal's poems were considered the first serious attempts in modern American poetry. Section two: Focus on the two native American poets: Addriene Rich and W. S. Merwin who wrote some ghazal poems after being influenced by its traditional form in order to tackle the differences between the original ghazal poetry and the American version. The Conclusion: sums- up the findings of the study .
