Abstract The city of Raqqa one important cities that have undergone state control Ayyubid for the period (578/658 e) and took manage a number of princes Ayyubids was in the forefront of King Nasser Saladin, which he subjected to control after that was the focus of conflict and disagreement between the princes Alzenkyin and Ayyubids, and took its management after Nasser Saladin the Ayyubid family, headed by King just Saifuddin Abu Bakr ibn Ayyub Saladin's brother and later inherited his sons, and continued their dominance until the year 658 AH, the year in which the Mongols occupied the Levant.

ABTRACT The Desertification is the most dangerous Phenomenon that threated the arid and semiarid regions due to intervene the natural ,geoglogical and geomorphological factors plus to the hot climate as well as the human pressure through the exploitation of the available resources So all these elements lead to unbalancing in the ecological systems and then resultin their deterioration and their direction to the Deseretification This study is designed to explain the critical impacts resulting in the Deseretification phenomenon in Beygy district where lies north of the middle region of irak .This region is objected to the aggravation of the desertification aspeets,especially, proceeding the sand mounted, removing and denudating the soil. It is indicated that the region is attained to the final stages of the Deseretification.to investigate thatphenomenonthe study is conducted in the domain and in certain places as well as it is depended on the obtained data of the relevant offices .It is also preformed the experminental analyses of the soil samples and regional water species in addition to the demarcation of the sand mount sites by the land sat-7 for 2011. The study of Domain is showed that the average of the sand mount proceeding in the Sahil region, north of Beyjy Refinery, is reached "8" (meters during the period of pursuiving that commences from (20/2/2012-27/9/2012 ) .As aresult, there are immense spaces of the region objected to the increase of the salting ratio in their soil and other spaces suffered from the aggressive pasturage and denudation of the vegetational coverage surfaces, all these factors would accelerate all the Deseretification of the region and then lead to the negatire results an the environmental, economical and social aspects.

Abstract The present research investigates the" impact of a counseling programmer on correcting the mis-conception of special education for slow- learners families". To fulfill the aims of the research, two null hypothesis have been set and examined for complete instructional course concerning slow- learners mothers. The experimental design of two independent groups , (experimental and control ), has been applied in this research. The sample consist of( 20) mothers distributed between two groups,(10) mothers for each. The equivalence between the two groups has been done in some variables as(mis-concept, the family monthly salary ,and academic achievement). A scale of mis-concept has been prepared . the validity of the scale is fulfilled by presenting it to a group of jurors specialized in education and psychology .the reliability is computed by repeating the test. The scale consists of (26) items. The counseling programme consist of(16) counseling meetings (45) minutes each. The programme also includes some activities as (lecturing, debate, and social enhancement). The researchers conduct the programme starting on 1st,oct.2010 and ending on 1st ,jan .2011. the experiment period starts and ends by applying the scale of mis-concept. The Pearson co-efficient correlation formula and t-test for two independent and two correlated groups have been used to analyze the collected data. The findings show statistically significant difference between the scores of subject in the experiment and control groups in the pre-test and for the benefit of the experimental one. According to the finding, the researchers recommend to enhance the role of mass media in improving the view of the society towards slow-learners. In addition ,the cooperation between parents and staff of the school is important . the researchers suggests undertaking similar study to investing the mis-concept of slow- learners mothers in other governorates, in addition to another study to be aquanted with the relation between mis-conception of slow- learners and self-concept and aggression behavior.

The Role of Pragmatic Transfer on L2 Speech Acts Production: A Comparative Study of Iraqi FL Learners’ Performance in both Iraqi and American Apologies

ABSTRACT Contrastive studies in interlanguage pragmatics investigating cross-cultural differences of many speech act realizations have highlighted the existence of pragmatic transfer (PT) during second language (L2) learners’ process of acquiring these speech acts. The speech act of apology, in particular, has much been researched since L2 learners face greater difficulties and risk of miscommunication in apologizing. Hence, to empirically examining and proving the role of PT in L2 apology performance, a qualitative and quantitative study have been conducted on 24 Iraqi foreign language (FL) learners of English. Two Discourse Completion Tests (DCTs), viz. one in Arabic and another in English containing 11 identical situations respectively, have been manifested. The data collected were coded and then analyzed on Excel 0.7 program to find answers to the four questions being raised by the present study. The results elicited revealed that PT, in both its instances, really exists due to both speech act universality and metapragmatic cultural-specific. Besides, most of the participants’ apologies in English were a mere literal translation of their corresponding Arabic apologies. This, in turn, denoted the role of negative PT on one hand, and the lack of the L2 metapragmatic knowledge especially the case with the low proficiency group, on the other. Nevertheless, high proficiency participants outperformed in their L2 apology performance their corresponding low proficiency group because of their L2 linguistic repertoire.

A MORPHONOLOGICAL SEMANTIC STUDY OF GRAMMATICAL GENDER IN IRAQI ARABIC-ENGLISH CODE-SWITCHING

ABSTRACT This paper is an attempt at analyzing grammatical gender in code-switching from central Iraqi Arabic (henceforth IA) to English, specifically in the case of a head noun being modified by an adjective or another noun. Here we explore how the gendered IA interacts with the non-gendered English, resulting in accommodation for a form of convergent flexibility. For example, Iraqis speaking English as a foreign language will assign the IA feminine marker [a] to the adjective modifying an English noun, as in ‘ka:mira (camera) ʧibi:ra (big)’, if the English noun ends in an [a]. The same can be said if the English noun is devoid of a final [a] as in ‘mall’ which will then be marked for masculine in its adjectival gender in the IA as in ‘mɒ:l (mall) ʧibi:r (big)’. Consequently, the morphonological shape accounts for grammatical concord and this is generally agreed upon by speakers in natural conversation. However, sometimes such morphonological gender assignment is not always so transparently defined and IA speakers instead select a semantic frame application to nouns, irrespective of their morphonological shape. Such semantic processing of gender is transferred across from IA. Such assignment rules force the speakers in bilingual conversation to somehow agree on noun assignment giving rise to either morphonologically or semantically attributed IA adjectives and, at times, there is feminine-masculine-feminine alternation until the end result is levelled and agreed upon by both speakers. The main criterion here is absolute grammatical agreement which is essential in IA discourse, and it has been found that code switchers have strong grammatical intuitions of male or female-specific lexicality.
