تأثير مضاد الاندروجين الفلوتامايد على التركيب النسجي لرئة ذكور الجرذان البيض

Abstract

This study was designed to evaluate the effects of the antiandrogen flutamide on the histological structure of the lung tissue in the white males rats. The study included 25 Swiss males rats aged between 3-4 months with different weights ranged between 200-250 gm. These animals were divided in to five groups, three of them were given different doses of flutamide drug (8, 12, 25 mg/kg/day) orally for 28 days. The control groups were included two groups. One of them was treated with the corn oil and considered as positive control group. The other one was treated by the physiological salt solution and considered the negative control group under the same conditions. The histological study of futamide drug treatment with concentration of (8, 12, 25 mg/kg/day) showed that there was thickening in the Inter alveolar septum as well as forming of wide non-functional spaces. In conclusion, changes summarized above might be attributed to anti androgen therapy that used in prostate cancer resulted in histological changes of the lung structure.
