Effect of using feed blocks containing different nitrogen sources and with or without peaker yeast on blood characteristics of Awassi rams

Abstract

This study was undertaken to examine the effect of different nitrogenous sources (poultry litters, poultry litter + urea and urea only) with or without Saccharomyces Cerevisiae (SC) supplementation in manufacturing of feed blocks on blood characteristics from value of blood glucose and blood urea nitrogen and blood total protein. Twenty four rams with 42.50 kg average weight, 1.2-1.5 years old were randomly divided into 6 equal groups. By using of feed blocks with different nitrogenous sources was significant (P<0.05) effect on blood urea nitrogen while did not significantly effect on blood glucose and blood total protein. The SC supplementation had no significant effect on all blood Characteristics. The effect interaction of different nitrogenous sources and SC supplementation was significant (P<0.05) effect on blood glucose and blood urea nitrogen and non significant on blood total protein. In conclusion blocks containing urea+ yeast (SC) represented the best formula in which better performance of rams can be achieved
