Prose in the First Islamic Period from Oriental Perspective : Correspondence as an Example

Abstract

Oriental studies were interested in investigating prose discourse in the first Islamic period . due to the importance of this topic in literary studies , this article discussed " Prose in the First Islamic Period from Oriental Perspective : Correspondence as an Example " . The study started with discussing the concept of orientalism according to the Arab thinker Edward Sa'ed . Then , reviewing the orientalist attitude towards the Glorious Quran and Its importance in the development of Arabic prose . The study ended in reviewing the orientalist attitude towards the letters and correspondence of the Prophet ( Allah's Blessings and Peace be upon Him ) clarifying the inaccurate belief that the letters written by the prophet ( Allah's Blessings and Peace be upon Him ) to the kings of his age were written for political and economic reasons .
