Effect of some Heavy metals in some unsaturated fatty acid content ( Omega-3 ) in some Microalgae ( Chlorella vulgaris , Spirulina platensis )

Abstract

The present study was included to know the effect of some heavy elements (Lead and Cadmium) and individual and interaction toxicity on unsaturated fatty acids content (Omega -3) in microalgae Chlorella vulgaris (from Chlorophyta) and Spirulina platensis (from Blue - green algae), and determined there contents from this acids under the effect of exposure to study heavy elements individually and interaction effect in different times, The results was showing absence all (Omega -3) acids in study microalgae at the day (12) on the concentration (100) mg/ L and in the day (20) and of the concentration (75) mg/ L from Lead, and in the day (16) of the concentration (3) mg/ L from Cadmium, and maximum decreased in the study microalgae content from (Omega -3) acids was showing in the day (20) when exposure to the concentrations (30 + 1) mg/ L from Lead and Cadmium in alga Ch. vulgaris and the concentrations (30 + 0.1) mg/ L from Lead and Cadmium in alga Sp. platensis.
