Abstract

This Thesis deals, in a comparative analytical way, with different aspects of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, and the premises of the revolution which affect the entire development in the Middle East since 1979 till the present day. The thesis also looks at the current discussions among politicians, state officials, and law academics, about the different aspects of the Iranian experience. It dwells on the effects of the intellectual heritage of the Shia doctrine on the new law system of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The thesis also deals, in some details, the constitution of the Islamic Republic, and how it organize the state departments and their practices, and the role of the Guardian council as an important monitoring legislative tool.
