Effect of bio-fertilizer and genotype on Cucumber growth and their productivity

Abstract

Factorial experiment (3 × 3) had been carried out on two inbred line with their hybrid of cucumber plant to study the efficiency of bio-fertilizers in growth and yield. Randomize complete block design (RCBD) in Al- Madaen area (south of Baghdad) in three replication included two factors, the first factor was contain three genotype P1, P2 and H whereas P1 ,P2 are the inbred line parent for their hybrid H, while the second facto included three bio-fertilizer B0,B1 and B2, as B1was the control treatment , B1and B2 included two combination of bio-fertilizer As the combination B1 Azotobacter Chroococcum (Az.1) + Pseudomonas.florescens (Ps.1) and combination B2 T. harzianum (T.26) + A. Chroococcum (Az.1) + P. florescens (Ps.1).The results showed a significant superior in the tri mixture of B1 , B2 and the hybrid H compared with P1+ P2 treatment's , as B2+H treatment the best value in growth and plant yield indicator which include the leave area, total chlorophyll Concentration in the leaves, shoot system dry weight, plant yield, early production and total production as it t ha-1 as follows 168.0, 148.0 cm, 10088, 7960 cm2 plant-1, 20.91, 20.30 mg g-1 soft tissue, 89.20, 79.43 g, 2.24, 1.53 kg plant-1 and 7.69, 7.26 t h-1 and 59.90, 40.80 t.h-1 for spring and autumn respectably, Which the less value for those indicators in the P1+Bo treatment as registered 130.3 and 120.0 cm, 7740, 7214 cm2 plant-1, 17.23 and 16.62 mg g -1 soft tissue, 48.90 and 42.10 gm, 1.82 and 1.12 kg plant -1, 4.83 and 4.33 t ha-1 and 48.66 and 29.90 t ha-1 for two seasons on the respectively.
