The impact of agricultural pricing policies and efficiency in the development of agricultural production in Iraq for the period (1980 - 2013)

Abstract

The research aims to measure the impact of agricultural pricing policies in the development of agricultural production of agricultural crops strategy under study (wheat, barley, rice, maize) in Iraq during the period (1980-2013), and adopted the research on the premise that the variables of agricultural pricing policies, the role of the mother in contributing in the development of Agricultural production of agricultural crops strategy under study during the period (1980 - 2013) , and the results were reached : the significant of variable area planted (X1) in all the studied crops, and appeared the significant of local purchase price variable (X2) only in the wheat crop did not show the significant in both of barley, rice and maize, and appeared the significant of mechanical technical variable (X3) in both wheat and barley and rice crop while the significant in maize crop does not appear, either chemical technique variable (X4) the significant has emerged only in rice crop and the significant did not appear in both wheat and barley and maize crop, and demonstrated a significant of variable agricultural loan volume (X5) in both of the rice crop and maize and the significant did not appear in both wheat and barley crop, and also the significant emerged deficit in agricultural trade balance variable (X6) in only rice crop and the signal is negative and the significant did not appear in other studied crops and in the light of the results of the analysis came several conclusions and which was reached a number of recommendations the most important of which is the announcement of the purchase prices of strategic crops such as wheat, barley, rice and maize before the growing season as much as possible as well as providing real incentives for producers to support the input of major crops such as wheat, barley, rice and maize production prices and ensure that pricing stability in the amount of production is good and the level of income farms in order to encourage them to develop and improve production.Key word: Agricultural Economic
