Re-Engineering Processes for Information Services in Academic Information Institutions

Abstract

The research aims to identify the reality of information services in the information institutions at Diyala University, recognize the concept and principles of reengineering process, explain its role in improving the level of information services provided to beneficiaries in information institutions at Diyala University, and to determine the readiness of human resources to reengineering their service operations. The research uses the analytical descriptive method, due to its relevance to the nature of the research through highlighting the theoretical side and designing a suitable questionnaire for this purpose. The research reaches a set of results, the most prominent of which were: the small number of specialists of information and libraries in institutions of information at Diyala University. The weakness of the effectiveness of information services provided to beneficiaries. Weakness in the reality of administrative operations due to the work of information institutions. In addition, human resources have shown that they are in urgent need of reengineering processes and procedures for providing information services.
