The development of the educational institution in Islam: A historical study

Abstract

Science and learning were taken a greatest importance for the Islamic religion when almighty Allah ordered through the verses of the Holy Quran and the holy prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him) through his Hadiths and Sunnah. In addition, Muslims acquired knowledge and learning, and seeking towards gaining it. This research therefore focuses on the development of the educational institution in Islam to illustrate the progress that had made by Muslims in the development of a science and sciences across institutions which had been achieved the education mission. That mission was started through accommodation houses and educational mosques which were multiple in the history of Islamic culture at such as The Prophet 's Mosque in Medina, the Great Mosque of Mecca, the Great Mosque of Kufa, Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem, the Umayyad Mosque in Damascus, and Al-Azhar Mosque in Egypt. Moreover, it was discussed the role of the reading and its divisions, the shops of education, papermakers, and Pemstranat where the most famous doctors in the history of the Islamic world worked and. Finally, this study has reviewed several schools of the architectural aspects in Iraq, Syria, Egypt, and Iran as well as the reasons of their appearance in terms of political and religious motives. Then, this study sheds light on the role of the intellectual movement through the Islamic historical periods, focusing on its architectural style to be a witness to the originality of Islamic civilization and its rich heritage
