THE EFFECT OF TYPE AND WOUNDING OF CUTTING'S IN ROOTING ABILITY OF Buxus sempervirens L. Cuttings

Abstract

This study was conducted in the lath house of Horticulture and Landscape Design Dept. Abu Greb (Baghdad) from 15/3/2017 to 15/9/2018. To study the effect of propagate Buxus plants with different stem type of cutting's ( soft wood, semi hard wood, hardwood ) and wounding the base of cutting ( no wound, one wound, two wounds). This experiment was factorial with two factors ( 3×3 ) in Randomized Complete Block design (RCBD) with 3 blocks and 14 cuttings in cache experimental unit, the best results were appeared on soft wood cuttings with two wounds significant superiority in rooting percentage, number of roots/ cutting dry, and wet weight roots cutting, earliness date of rooting number of leaves / cutting, number of shoots/ cutting, chlorophyll density, C/N ratio, number of successful seedlings, which value were reached to 14%, 13.87 root cutting, 0.400 gm, 1.700 gm, 18.7 days, 3.87%, 14 seeding's. Respectively.
