MATHEMATICS DESCRIPTION OF LEAD ADSORPTION IN SOME CALCAREOUS SOILS OF NINEVEH GOVERNATE NORTHERN IRAQ

Abstract

Four locations of soils were chosen on a long Danfeeli valley stream with different texture from Al-kathra (N36ͦ 21, 25.9 " , E43ͦ 13, 2.3") to Al-mazara (N36ͦ 19, 48.3", E43ͦ 09, 47.9") in Nineveh governorate which is located at the south eastern part of Mosul city. The study included Lead adsorption isotherm at (2980) K by a different concentration equilibrium of Lead (0،1،2،3،4،5،10،20،30،40،50،100) mg.L-1 ,The adsorption of lead was described by using Langmuir one and two surfaces, Freundlich isotherm equations. and showed that the fit of Pb adsorption data to Langmuir(II) among these equations. The average of bonding energy(k) (4.61),(17.72)L. mg-1 and average of adsorption capacity (Xm) were (10.61),(56.42)mg.Kg-1 for first and second sites respectively. The results showed that Maximum Buffering Capacity (MBC) as average was (54.66),(2814.16)L.Kg-1 while Equilibrium Buffering Capacity (EBC)as average was (0.25),(0.10) L.Kg-1 for the first and second sites respectively.
