EFFECT OF SPRAYING WITH ROSELLE EXTRACT AND FOLIAR NUTRITION IN GROWTH AND FLOWERING OF MARIGOLD CALENDULA OFFICINALIS L.GROWING IN BOARDER FLOWERS

Abstract

The experiment was carried out on the Marigold plant in boarder flowers in the garden of the horticultural Station of the Department of Horticultural and Landscape, Collage of Agriculture, University of Tikrit. during the agricultural season 2017 – 2018. Experiment was two factors , Spraying with Roselle (Hibiscus subdariffa L.) extract in three concentration (0 , 5 , 10) gm.L-1, second factor spraying with a balanced solution PRO.SOL(20:20:20 NPK) two concentration (0 , 1.5) gm.L-1, design of RCBD and three replicates. The results showed that there was a response to the plant when spraying with the Roselle extract and the foliar nutrition. The treatment of Roselle extract at a concentration of 10 gm. L -1 gave highest rate height plant, leaves number, dray weight and content of the leaves of chlorophyll, which reached 35.23 cm, 74.38 leaf. plant-1, 17.27 gm. Plant-1 and 28.67 SPAD Unit for the respectively and a significant increase from control treatment. The treatment of spraying with nutritious solution PRO.SOL with a concentration of 1.5 gm.L -1 gave highest number of flowers was 21.92 flower. Plant -1 and the highest weight and flower diameter of 2.55 gm. Flower -1 and 5.19 cm. While the highest concentrations of nitrogen were 3.05%, phosphorus 0.239%, and potassium 3.11% for the treatment of the interaction between spraying with the solution of the PRO.SOL solution 1.5 gm.L-1 and Roselle extract 10 gm.L-1.
