CASE STUDY ON THE ACTIVATION LEVEL OF MECHANISM EVALUATES FOR EXTENSION ACTIVITIES FROM THE VIEWS OF AGRICULTURAL EXTENSION WORKERS IN THE KURDISTAN REGION OF IRAQ

Abstract

This study aimed to identify the activation level of mechanism evaluates for extension activities from the views of agricultural extension workers in the Kurdistan region of Iraq. The population research included all Agricultural extension workers 302 workers and the exclusion of 26 workers of the population to apply the Pre-test process to measuring the reliability of the questionnaires for this study. So the study sample consisted of 276 workers; they were selected by % 30, and they became 92 workers. To achieve the objectives of the study, a questionnaire was used and as a tool for data collection and interview method, then for statistical analysis, the researcher used some of the statistical methods such as frequencies, percentages, arithmetic mean, and standard deviation, then used Software of SPSSversion18 for analyzing data. Results of the study showed that the general level of activating the mechanism for evaluating extension activities from the point of view of extension workers is the medium tends to lower by 72.83% , Also the results showed the stag order of mechanism evaluate in planning, implementation, and follow-up- evaluation as follows: the implementation stage came in the first rank and by 60.86%, then follow-up - evaluation in the second rank and by 59.78%, and planning came in the last rank and by 55.43%. In light of results; the researcher recommended the need to review the mechanism for evaluation of agricultural extension activities which used in the directorates of agricultural extension directorates in Kurdistan, and work to rebuild the mechanism of the evaluation process on scientific bases and relevant to the current reality of the Agricultural Extension departments in Kurdistan region of Iraq.
