Psychological Stresses of Study and its Relationship with the Conception of Academic Self Secondary School Students

Abstract

The individual's life may have hard and light materialistic and moral difficulties and obstacles prevent him from getting his aims. The individual may feel stress when he realizes his inability to make the required balance between the personal aptitudes and the demands of life,in .Secondary school students in Iraq might face a range of stresses that may be an obstacle to satisfy motives of school. So we know and check these stresses in order to reduce their impact and find the appropriate solutions for them.Here comes the importance of the current research .The current research aims to :1.Measurement of the psychological stresses of school among the members student of the secondary stage.2.Know the significance of differences by sex in the psychological stresses of school among the members student of the secondary stage.3.Know the significance of differences by the specialization of study in the school of psychological stress among members student of the secondary stage.4.Measurement of academic self among members student of the secondary stage.5.Knowledge of the relationship between psychological stress of school and academic self among members student of the secondary stage.The researcher used the following metrics:1.The criterion of the psychological stresses of school, prepared by Omar Ismail Ali.2.The criterion of academic self which the researcher constructs it .This has been confirmed researcher of validity of two scalesthe use of face validity, and indicators of construct validity, has also been making sure the stability of the criterion by re-testing and retail midterm and coefficient alpha Cronbakh's internal The researcher found the following results :1.research sample has a higher than average level of hypothesis in the scale of psychological stress of school.2.statistically significant difference at the level (0.05) between the scores of males and females in the psychological stresses of school and in favor of males.3.No statistically significant difference at the level (0.05) between the scores of students in scientific specialization and literary specialization in psychological stresses of school.4.Research sample that has a higher level than the average in academic self-concept.5.Results showed that there is an inverse relationship between psychological stress and academic self-concept. That is, each increase of any sense of psychological stresses is accompanied by decrease in academic self-concept. The researcher recommended that interest should be given to students of secondary school and the difficulties of study that face them and find appropriate solutions,.
