Morphological and Optical Constants of CdS Thin Films Deposited by SILAR Method

Abstract

Successive ionic layer adsorption and reaction (SILAR) technique was used to prepare (CdS) thin films on glass substrate, by changing the concentration of thiourea solution. SEM images show that all films have smooth and homogeneous surfaces and show a remarkable change as a result of change of molar concentration. CdS thin films have low transmittance in the visible region.the results indicate that the highly average transmittance for that region was about 29.289 for 0.1 M. the optical energy gap was varied with molar concentration and the highest value was for 0.07 M
