Predicting the accuracy of shooting from the free throw as a function of some special physical and motor abilities to select junior basketball players at ages (14-16) years

Abstract

The research included four chapters, as the first chapter contained an introduction and the importance of the research, and the researcher touched on the importance of tests and measurement in the sports field, especially the game of basketball, as well as the focus on the most important physical and movement capabilities and the skill of shooting accuracy. By performing the skill of shooting accuracy for junior basketball players, as for the research problem lies in the need for coaches to know the predictive value of the tests as well as the percentage of the contribution of physical and kinetic abilities in performing the skill of accuracy of shooting from the free throw. As for the areas of research, they included the human field that represented the emerging players in Maysan Governorate For the sports season (2017-2018), and the temporal domain was determined for the period from (25/1/2018) to (2/30/2018), while the spatial domain was for the stadiums and halls of clubs in Maysan Governorate. The researcher used the descriptive method in the survey method, and the research sample consisted of (60) young players, and the researcher applied physical and kinetic tests and the skill of shooting accuracy from a free throw in a basketball game (explosive strength of the arms, the distinctive strength of the speed of the arms, agility, flexibility, correction accuracy From the free throw), and the (SPSS) system was used to obtain the results of the research, and the researcher concluded that the physical and movement abilities contributed in a significant and acceptable percentage to the performance of the skill of shooting accuracy in the basketball game, as well as devising a final predictive equation through which the skill of shooting accuracy can be predicted in a more important sense. Physical and motor abilities of junior basketball players. Therefore, the researcher recommends the need for coaches to pay attention to the physical and motor aspects, as they are one of the basic requirements that affect athletic performance.
