The Quranic vision ) ) The Battle of Al-Ahzab

Abstract

The Sura Al-Ahzab included a depiction of the encroachment of fanatic partisans - the enemies of Muslims - on Medina. The narrations hailed it as the battle of Al-Ahzab or the Trench. Because the Prophet (peace be upon him and his family) and the Muslims decided to dig a trench to serve as a shield and an impenetrable barrier in front of the fanatic partisans when they tried to storm Medina. The purpose of the verses was not to narrate the facts of the incident as a narrative, as it is clear from its style, but rather to refer to some positions and effects that required the wisdom of revelation and to refer to it with the intention of exhortation, mentioning and condemnation as is the case with the Qur’anic style in the stories and in the jihadist events of the era of the Prophet (peace be upon him and his family) generally.
