Evaluation sites, industrial areas climatically in the holy city of Najaf

Abstract

Studying the climatic evaluation of the industrial sites one of the most important studies to which the researchers of the applied climatic science directed. The reveals the negative effects of the industrial sites whose spatial dimensions are unsuitable on the climatic level, especially with the role of winds and its effect on diffusing the industrial pollution come from the factories chimney on the wind direction. Among the study priorities is to choose the best and optimum site for the industrial projects and to restrict them within an industrial well scientific organized city; this involves providing an area of (5-15)km, considering winds` direction and to be far from the residential quarters so as to have a clear environment. The study shows a direct relation between the chimney’s height and the distance that the polluters cross, the involved height is more than 15m. Winds are the most important element of climate that transport polluters to Al-Najaf city, where the study indicates that many of the industrial sites are unsuitable.
