Feminine centrality in contemporary feminist poetry: a sociocultural reading

Abstract

The woman issue and its problematic confrontation with the masculinity system is considered a starting point for many theoretical and creative studies. This research is based on shedding light on the manifestations of this problematic issue through a feminist text represented in the poem "I and the Wall" by the Iraqi poet Bushra al-Bustani. This poet is considered a feminist voice who contributed greatly in defending women's issues whether in her poetry, her critical writings or in her epistemological dialogues. By this, she presented an opposing tendency against the policy of marginalization and exclusion that is directed towards women on all levels.
