Some Morphometric Characteristics of Basin of Al-Akrawi Valley Basin in the Badia of Al-Muthanna Province Using Remote Sensing and Geographical Information Systems Techniques

Abstract

The research dealt with the study of the morphometric characteristics of Basin of Al-Akrawi Valley, one of the dry geomorphological valleys in the Badia of Al-Muthanna Province in Iraq, whose sources are located near Saudi lands and some of them stem from Saudi lands. The area of the basin is (3493) km2. One of the most important morphometric characteristics that it takes place in its upper sector in more severe areas, compared to its lower sector, which takes place in somehow better areas. The number of river levels reached (6), with varying lengths and numbers from one level to another.
