Factors Affecting the Strategic Options of Private Economic Organizations: A Survey of Views of the Managers in A Group of Economic Organizations in Baghdad

Abstract

The study sought to determine the factors affecting the strategic options through anexploratory study of the opinions of a number of managers in a group of private economicorganizations in Baghdad. The strategic choices of any organization are affected by a set offactors such as leadership, organizational structure, availability of resources, vision, mission... etc., which requires studying the effect of these factors on strategic options and which ofthese factors is more influential, in general the study tries to answer the following question:What are the influencing factors On the strategic options in the private organizations underconsideration?. The study reached a set of conclusions, the most important of which are, theexistence of a significant impact of the factors of leadership, the organizational structure,availability of resources, vision, mission, external environment and culture on the strategicoptions in the private organizations under study, and a number of recommendations weremade consistent with these conclusions.
