The phenomenon of branching in Arabic: a reading in the dimensions and limits of the concept in the light of the Qur’anic text

Abstract

Interest in the Holy Qur’an and work on explaining its meanings and miracles, as well as extrapolating its methods and secrets, is still the preoccupation of the people of science and the arts at all. This paper is based on two hypotheses: The first hypothesis is concerned with that the establishment of (the concept of branching) and work on clarifying its determinantsThe second hypothesis: a statement of the terms and other nomenclature by which the meaning of branching can be achieved in order to reach its integrated meaning. One of the results reached in the current work was that the researcher found that branching is a textual phenomenon that stems from Arabic grammar; It is not only a rhetorical phenomenon; Rather, the principle on which it is based is grammar, because all its tools that embody this phenomenon in the corners of the verses of the Qur’anic text are purely grammatical tools.
