The economic aspect of the Mamluk princes

Abstract

The Mamluk era is considered one of the most important eras of Islamic history in general, and the history of Egypt and the Levant in particular, because of this era of many advantages, whether from the political, economic or social aspects. This political power reflected its effects on the economic side, as any development or deterioration on the political side is accompanied by the same development or deterioration on the economic, social or cultural side. The feudalism, which is part of the economic aspect, was common at the time, in addition to agriculture, industry, and trade, and since there was a discrepancy between the Mamluk princes and jurists in caring about the economic aspect, it was a valid sample for study, research, and shedding light on this part that was not sufficiently highlighted. The study is that the title of the research is the economic aspect of the Mamluk princes, to know their economic activity, as well as economic crises, disasters and pests. . The research plan will be based on two demands, the first: agriculture, industry, trade and expenditures, as it will become clear to us how these aspects were in the era of the Mamluk princes, the jurists, and the second: the resources of the Mamluk jurists and their financial allocations, in which the state’s resources are clarified in the era of the Mamluk jurists and where these resources are spent
