The Concept of Communicative Languistics and its Trends

Abstract

This research belongs to the terminological thinking, or the terminological field of linguistics, to set the boundaries between one term and another, or perhaps, to indicate the structure of similarity and convergence between them.The first axis of this research tended to define communicative linguistics, according to the first phases, defining structuralism, and the second defining communicative. While the second axis derived its material from the directions of communicative linguistics , as I adopt , and it was divided into a number of directions: the French and its leader, Andre Martini, the functionalist, led by Simon Dick, the contextual, and its leader, John Robert Firth, the Jacobsonian, the pragmatic, the textual, and others.
