Improve the local components of the substrate to increase the production oyster mushroom Pleurotus ostreatus and post- spent quality

Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the possibility of using waste common reed and different waste paper which are pollutants to the environment and production of oyster mushroom Pleurotus ostreatus in addition to improve the quality of the post- spent quality by using it as an organic fertilizer. The study included a field experiment carried out in an isolated room in the Laboratory of Fallujah Hospital to study the possibility of using waste paper on the components of the substrate in addition of studding the effect of amendment of rock phosphate by 0% , 5% and 10%, and 0% and 3% urea amendment. Spent characteristics - Highest content of carbon 54.66% was obtained by treatment of common reed that have been amended by 3% urea and 10% rock phosphate. While the highest rate of nitrogen ratio of 9.34% was obtained in the treatment of common reed alone without urea and with 10% rock phosphate. Highest phosphorus value (0.57%) was observed in the treatment of 70% common reed + 30% cardboard with 10% rock phosphate and without urea. The highest percentage of weight loss (29.15%) was noticed in the treatment 70% common reed + 30% cardboard with 5% rock phosphate without urea. The highest percentage of fibers (74.97%) obtained by the treatment of 80% common reed + 20% paper with 3% urea and 5% rock phosphate. While the highest rate of organic acids content of 5.47% with 3% urea and 10% phosphate rock was noticed in the treatment of 70% common reed + 30% paper.
