Effect of foliar sprays with some nutrient element on growth, yield and chemical components of Rosella Hibiscus sabdariffa L.

Abstract

This study was conducted in Brwana district, Haddetha province Al-Anbar governorate during the growing seasons of 2004 and 2005 to investigate on the growth and chemical characteristics for Rosella jamica Hibiscus sabdariffa L.The effect of foliar sprays with N as urea {CO(NH2)2} at 5 g. L-1 and K on K2SO4 at 4 g. L-1 and B on H3PO3 at 2 g. L-1 and their iteration.Eight treatments were used using (RCBD) with three replicates to compose the means using Duncin multiple range the experimental results of those experiments showed that:-البحث مستل من أطروحة دكتوراه للباحث الأولtreating plants with N+K+B significantly gave the highest plant hight of 142.0, 156-66 cm, number of branches per plant of 24.0, 28-66 branch, number of fruit of 162.70, 180.0 fruit. Plant-1, calyx yield of 42.0, 46.70 g. plant-1 and total yield of 1077.33, 1250.70 Kg. Hktar-1 for both season respectively as composed with the control treatment which gave 120.40, 131.0 cm, 17.33, 20.33 branch. plant-1, 32.70, 35.70 g. plant-1 and 952.00, 869.33 Kg. Hktar-1 for both seasons respectively. The treatment with N+K+B significantly increased Vit. C. content of 47.96, 48.56 mg.100 g-1 juice.
