Abstract
In this study, the mechanical constants namely modulus of elasticity, modulus of rigidity and possions ratio, are determined using the ultrasound waves technique for two alloys, the first is 2024 Aluminum alloy and the second is carbon steel 1540. Comparison between the results of the above technique with the results obtained by the tensile test was made. The results are in good agreement. The present work recommends using the ultrasound waves technique instead of the tensile test
