Effect of magnetic water and vitamin A& C on some physiological characteristics in male Arabi lambs

Abstract

This study was conducted in the college of Agriculture/ University of BasraFrom 24/10/2011 to 29/02/2012 and the Ministry of Science& Technology to show the effect of magnetically treated water(1600 Gauss) Or/and vitamins (A and C) on productivity and physiological characteristics of the Arabi male lambs . Twenty Arabi Arabi male lambs were used in this study aged ranged between ( 4-5 months) and average body weight (25.5kg) were randomly distributed to five groups by four animals per treatment , All these groups fed concentrate ration consisted of barley (500/day/head) with providing forage ( green and dry) and a available hay or alfalfa .Treated groups were control ( no addition) , magnetic water only , magnetic water and vitamin A and(500mg/week), magnetic water and vitamin C and(500mg/week), ), magnetic water and vitamin A and C , RBC ,PCV , HB ,WBC ,LYM and Neu , total protein, glucose , cholesterol, Triglycerides and liver enzymes (GPT and GOT )were studied , Treated groups recorded significant increase in red blood cells , PCV and Hemoglobin during the 3rd and 4th month of the study compared with control group . All treated groups showed significant( p 0.05) decrease in lymphocytes compared with control. The 2nd , 3rd , 4th and 5th groups recorded significantly higher ( p 0.05) in total protein compared with control group. While 2nd group showed higher glucose only .In addition of all treated groups showed low cholesterol level comparison with control group . GOT and GPT 2nd increased significantly( p 0.05) in comparison with control group.
