Competitive Priorities For Tourism Services A Pilot Study Of The Opinions Of Specimen Of Employees In Chosen Companies For Pilgrimage And Omrah In Mosul City

Abstract

The research aims to describe and diagnose the most important competitive priorities for tourism services in chosen companies for pilgrimage and "omrah" in Mosul City, and since competitive priorities represent strong points possessed by the organization only and not by it`s competitors, and these competitive priorities are basically dependant on the expertise of staff in the induction of the environmental conditions of organizations and competitors and knowing customers in order to attain the competitive advantage for the organization and to strengthen it`s power in dealing with the organizational chances so to stay within the framework of competition, so the researchers attempt to include this dimension in the research. In general the research attempts to give an answer to the inquiry which is confined to classifying the order of the competitive priorities which are adopted by the organizations under research and through which the organization can attain the competitive advantage and at the same time indicating not to suppose the availability of the presence of classified competitive order of the priorities which are usually adopted by organizations under research in order to attain the competitive advantage and these were tested by statistical methods so to analyse the collected data in order to get information through the questionnaire which was distributed to (35) persons represented by managers and employees of the organizations under research. The research concludes to some conclusions the most important of which what was clear from the results that described and diagnosed competitive priorities that the accuracy of the time of delivery of service attained the first rank in attracting customers to deal with tourist organizations, then the cost followed by quality, in addition to reputation and finally elasticity as the customer always search for the accuracy of time of delivery of service and a reasonable cost as the basis upon which suggestions for the research were set.
