Objectives: To highlight the etiologies, pattern of presentations and the route of diagnosis of all liver diseases in children less than 10 years referred to the Gastroenterology and Hepatology Unit in Children Welfare Teaching Hospital over a six months period.Patients and methods: A prospective study was conducted in the Gastroenterology and Hepatology Unit in the Children Welfare Teaching Hospital / Baghdad Medical City hospital during the period from first of December 2016 to the end of thirty first of May 2017.Forty patients aged below 10 years were thoroughly assessed for possible causes of liver disease and the severity of liver damage. These patients were subjected to a detailed history, thorough physical examination and a list of investigationsResults: forty patients their age less than 10 years, the most common age group in this study was from 1 year to 5 years was 17(40%), males are more affected than females in the ratio of 1.5:1, it was found that the mean age of onset is the biliary atresia and Galactosemia cases were within the first week of life, congenital infection cases presented earlier than the two above groups. In this study most of the cases were diagnosed clinically and by available investigations and only cases of biliary atresia and glycogen storage diseases were diagnosed by liver biopsy.Conclusion: All patients presented late with complications, biliary atresia cases were very late in presentation, all with fibrosis. Family history usually very important in hereditary liver diseases as galactosemia and glycogen storage disease a careful physical examination in addition to previous medical history most of the time gives a clue to the final diagnosis.Keywords: liver diseases, clinical aspects, children less than 10 years.

الخلفية: قد لا يكون من السهل التعرف على أمراض الكبد على وجه التحديد من قبل الطبيب، ووهذا بدوره يمكن أن تؤدي إلى التأخر في بدء العلاجات الفعالة، وتشمل العلامات والأعراض الأكثر شيوعا في أمراض كبد الأطفال:- تضخم الكبد ,اليرقان،خلل التخثر أو ارتفاع انزيمات الكبد أو نواتج االفضلات مثل الأمونيا.الأهداف: لتسليط الضوء على مسببات وشكل المرض وطريق تشخيص جميع أمراض الكبد في الأطفال الأقل من 10 سنوات المحالين إلى وحدة الجهاز الهضمي والكبد في مستشفى حماية الاطفال التعليمي على مدى ستة أشهر.المرضى والطرق: أجريت دراسة استطلاعية في وحدة أمراض الجهاز الهضمي والكبد في مستشفى حماية الاطفال التعليمي / مجمع مدينة الطب في بغداد خلال الفترة من أول ديسمبر 2016 حتى نهاية الثلاثين من شهر مايو 2017.أربعون مريضا تقل أعمارهم عن 10 سنوات، تم تقييم جميع المرضى بدقة لأسباب محتملة لأمراض الكبد وشدة تلف الكبد. وقد تعرض هؤلاء المرضى لتاريخ مفصل، وفحص البدني شامل وقائمة من التحقيقاتالنتائج: أربعون مريضا اعمارهم أقل من 10 سنوات، وكانت الفئة العمرية الأكثر شيوعا في هذه الدراسة من أكثر من 1 سنة إلى 5 سنوات 17 (40٪)، والذكور أكثر تضررا من الإناث بنسبة 1.5: 1، فإنه وجد أن متوسط العمر في بداية انسداد القنوات الصفراوية ومرض اتفاع الجالاكتوز في الدم كان في الأسبوع الأول من الحياة، وتحصل حالات العدوى الخلقية بوقت مبكراكثر من المجموعتين أعلاه. تم في هذه الدراسة تشخيص الحالات التي تم تشخيصها بشكل سريري ومن خلال الفحوصات المتاحة، ولم يتم تشخيص سوى حالات انسداد القنوات الصفراوية وأمراض تخزين الجليكوجين بواسطة خزعة الكبد.الاستنتاج: قدم جميع المرضى في وقت متأخر مع المضاعفات، حالات انسداد القنوات الصفراوية كانت متأخرة جدا في العرض، وجميعها كانت مصاحبة مع لتليف الكبد. تاريخ العائلة عادة ما تكون مهمة جدا في أمراض الكبد الوراثية مثل مرض اتفاع الجالكتوز في الدم ومرض تخزين الجليكوجين والفحص البدني الدقيق بالإضافة إلى التاريخ الطبي السابق في أكثر الحالات يعطي فكرة عن التشخيص النهائي.الكلمات المفتاحية: أمراض الكبد، الجوانب السريرية، والأطفال أقل من 10 سنوات.} }
