Abed PY - 2019 VL - 37 IS - 2 Part (c) special SP - 214 EP - 218 JO - Engineering and Technology Journal مجلة الهندسة والتكنولوجيا SN - 16816900 24120758 AB - Abstract- The present work aims to study the inhibition performance ofnew organic inhibitor namely ANTD “2-amino-5-(4-nitrophenyl)-1,3,4-thiadiazole” on corrosion of mild steel (MS) in HCl environment at theconcentration of 1.0 M through using weight loss techniques. Weight lostmeasurements demonstrates the presence of a film on MS surface inexistence of organic substance. The inhibition performance of ANTD atvarious concentrations for mild steel increases with increasingconcentration and with an increased in the immersion time anddecreased with raising temperatures degrees. The optimal inhibitionefficiency of (ANTD), 82%, was achieved for mild steel when immersedwith the highest utilized concentration for 6 hrs
