BCG scar measured in both groups(average of transverse and longitudinal diameter) Results: The average age for the control non-asthmatic group was 9.2(2.1)years and for the asthmatic- patients group was 9.2(a2.3) years. The data showed that 64.3%(54/84) of children with asthma had scars smaller than 5mm, but that of non- asthmatic control group was 28.6%(24/84) had scars smaller than 5mm p>0.01 , the odd ratio was calculated to be 4.5 Conclusion: this study has demonstrated that children with asthma produce smaller vaccine scar diameters than control group for a5mm reference value(p<0.01) .
