تعد مدينة الموصل واحدة من بين الحواضر القديمة والعظيمة التي ورد ذكرها لدى أغلب المؤرخين والبلدانين المسلمين، لأنها من اهم بلاد الجزيرة وفرضة العراق والشام وقد ذكرت في كثير من المصادر المهمة أمثال الحموي الذي عَدها حلقة وصل بين المشرق والمغرب، لذلك تطرقنا في هذا البحث علماء الحديث النبوي في الموصل، في كتاب سير اعلام النبلاء للذهبي (ت: 748هـ/ 137م)، اذ أوضحنا فيه ان علماء الموصل هو كل من ولد او تتلمذ على يد علمائها حتى وان ارتحل الى مدينة اخرى وتوفى هنالك فهو يعد من علمائها، لبيان أثر هؤلاء العلماء في الحياة العلمية في الموصل خاصة والبلدان الاسلامية عامة وبيان أثرهم في دراسة علم الحديث الشريف.} }
