يعد الاديب ايلي عامير بوصفه مبدعا كبيرة في تاريخ الادب العبري الحديث أحد أبرز من أضاف للنثر العبري على الأصعدة كافة، فقد كتب الرواية التي ترتبط حبا بالمكان على نحو إيجابي، والرواية التي ترتبط كراهية بالمكان وتتمظهر على نحو سلبي، واستطاع من خلال هاتين القناتين أن يضيف كثيرا إلى النثر العبري الحديث مستندا إلى ثقافته المتنوعة واطلاعه الواسع على الاداب الاوربية في عصر النهضة والفترات التي تلتها وصولا إلى المرحلة الحالية، فضلا عن تأثره بالادب العربي بوصفه ملما بهذه اللغة، هذه الأسباب قد هيأته لكتابة روائعه التي تتعلق بالمكان والحب سواء أكان هذا الارتباط سلبا أم إيجابا حبا أم كراهية، على النحو الذي أظهر ثنائية الحب والكراهية من خلال المكان الذي حوله عامير إلى مكان سياسي خاص به ، فضلا عن تاثره بالتيارات السياسية التي واكبت حياته والتي كان لها وقعا كبيرا في نتاجاته الادبية .ومن خلال الرواية تظهر رؤية الكاتب إلى المجتمع اليهودي بوصفة جزء من المجتمع العراقي بالواقعية والحنين إليه ، فقد اسهب عامير بنقل الحقيقية والحكايات وشعور اليهود قبيل وابان الهجرة ومالاقوه في اسرائيل من ويلات وتهميش وضغينة ، فضلا عن وصفهم واعتبارهم يهود من الطبقة الدنيا أو المرتبة الثانية. و أي إشارة إلى تاريخ يهود العراق بعد قيام دولة إسرائيل بالكتابة الأدبية أو التأريخية أو غير ذلك ، تخضع للحاضر والتصورات الثقافية والسياسية للكاتب. تتأثر الكتابة بـ "المشهد الخارجي" والداخلي ، ولا يمكن فصلها عن الرواية الثقافية السائدة. وهذا ما الفناه لدى الأديب ايلي عامير الذي تغيرت وجهة نظره للصهيونية ، الذي عارضها في البدء ولكنه اخذ يمجدها بعد قيام الدولة ، شانه شان سامي ميخائيل من قبله ER -
