In the light of Critical Discourse Analysis, we mainly aim to reveal the concepts and ideologies implied in Trump’s speech which amounted to 1281 words. Fairclough’s critical discourse analysis approach and Van Dijk framework are adopted to depict and unmask the concepts and ideologies implied. The results show that national identity, directness, , over-wording, repetition, solidarity, negative evaluation for others, positive evaluation for himself have been dominated in the speech. The most interesting result in this article is that Trump avoids being politician “We must put politics aside, stop the partisanship and unify together as one nation and one family” as an attempt to emphasize his collectivity in facing severe crisis such as Coronavirus spread.
