Oct.2006 to 1st.April, 2007. Non-randomized consecutive sample of 1234 were collected from the early detection of childhood disabilities center (E.D.C.D.C.) of Duhok. The population involved was infants of both sexes aged (1day-24 months), i.e. the entire cases that attended the centre during the period from 1/1/2005 to 30/12/2006. Patients’ registers or records from (E.D.C.D.C.) were used to collect data about developmental dysplasia of the hip.Results: The results indicated that (43.1%) of developmental dysplasia of the hip cases occur in winter, girls mainly suffer from developmental dysplasia of the hip (66%), bilateral affection was more common (62.1%), the mother's age group of(16-25 years) had the highest occurrence (45.6%), consanguineous parents constitute (54.5%), deliveries conducted in hospitals (89.8%) constituted significantly the highest rate of developmental dysplasia of the hip cases, illiterate mothers (57.8%) were the highest, fathers having primary education were highest and constituted (38.5%), the group with no other disabled children within the same family was the highest (75.4%), the highest rate of developmental dysplasia of the hip cases observed was in families having (1-4) children (77.1%), and finally developmental dysplasia of the hip patients with no other disabilities were the highest (96.6%).Conclusion: The study reveals that the developmental dysplasia of the hip highest during winter, females with DDH were found to be higher than males, patients with bilateral developmental dysplasia of the hip were confirmed to be the highest, mothers aged below 35 years were found to have high rate of child with developmental dysplasia of the hip, consanguineous parents’ group was seen to be more related with developmental dysplasia of the hip followed by non consanguine group, developmental dysplasia of the hip cases were found to be more in deliveries conducted at hospitals, non-medical factors such as mother's and father's literacy were noticed to be of importance in DDH occurrence, developmental dysplasia of the hip cases were not associated with other disabled children within the same family, the small size group, had highest frequency of developmental dysplasia of the hip, and patients with no other disabilities were found to be the commonest. ملخصالهدف: اجريت هذه الدراسة للتعرف على اهمية وتاثير مختلف المتغيرات والتي لها ااثر في حدوث الخلل مثل(الجنس- مكان الولادة- فصول السنه- ثقافة الام والاب- صلة القرابة بين الوالدين- الجهة المصابة - عدد اطفال العائلة- عمر الام وفصيلة دمها- وجود سابقة لحدوث مثل هذه الحالةالمرضية في العائلة- ووجود تشوهات خلقية اخرى).طريقة البحث : اجريت دراسه وصفيه مقطعيه استغرقت مدة (6) اشهر بدءا من (1/10/2006 ولغاية1/4/2007). تم جمع نماذج متتالية وغيرمختارة عشوائيا بلغ عددها (1234) حالة من مركزالكشف المبكرلعوق الاطفال الكائن في مدينة دهوك. وشملت النماذج الاطفال من كلا الجنسين والذين بلغت اعمارهم من (يوم واحد ولغاية سنتان) اي جميع الحالات المرضية التي حضرت الى المركز المذكورخلال الفترة من (1/1/2005 ولغاية 30/12/2006). وتم الاستعانة والرجوع الى ملفات المرضى المتوفرة في المركز المذكورللحصول على المعلومات المطلوبة للبحث .النتائج: اشارت النتائج الى ان(%43.1) من حالات خلل النموّ التطوري لمفصلِ الورك في محافظة دهوك تحدث في فصل الشتاء, وان الاناث يعانين اكثر من الذكورحيث بلغت نسبة الاناث المصابات(%66 ), وان الاصابة بكلا الجانبين كانت الاكثر حدوثا وبلغت نسبتها (%62.1), وان الامهات اللاتي تتراوح اعمارهن بين( 16-25 سنة) سجلن اعلى نسبة بلغت(%45.6), وان الابوين الذين تربطهما صلة قرابة يمثلون الاكثر نسبة(%54.5(, وان الولادات التي حدثت في المستشفيات سجلت النسبة الاعلى في اصابات خلل النموّ التطوري لمفصلِ الورك في محافظة دهوك بلغت (%89.8), وان الامهات الامّيات سجلّن اعلى نسبة وبلغت (%57.8), وان نسبة الاباء من حملة التحصيل الابتدائي كوّنوا الاغلبية(%38.5), ومجموعة الذين يعانون فقط من خلل النموّ التطوري لمفصلِ الورك في محافظة دهوك ولا وجود لأعاقات اخرى في نفس العوائل كانت الاعلى وبلغت نسبة (%75.4). وسجلت اعلى نسبة للاصابة في العائلات التي لديها (1-4) اطفال فقط وبلغت نسبتها (%77.1), واخيرا المرضى الذين لا يعانون من اية اعاقات اخرى كانت الاعلى وبلغت نسبتهم (%96.6).الاستنتاج: اظهرت الدراسه بان اعلى نسبه لحدوث الخلل سجلت بفصل الشتاء, نسبة الاناث اعلى من نسبة الذكور, الخلل المتناظر او بالجهتين اكثر من الجهه الواحده, نسبة الاصابه عاليه عند اطفال الامهات اللتي اعمارهن اقل من 25 سنه وعند زواج الاقارب وفي ولادات المستشفيات, للعوامل غير الطبيه كالتحصيل الدراسي للوالدين دورا بحدوث الخلل, ان وجود اطفال معوقين اخرين او انواع اخرى من العوق ليس ذو علاقه بحدوث خلل التنسج لمفصل الورك.} }
