The day, who distributes the light on the earth and life, characterized clarity, designation and appearance, and it may not be desirable in the philosophy of love because it reveals the lovers. Love by itself involves the meaning of confidential and secret, so the night, on the contrary, means darkness, lack of clarity and ambiguity, which fit with the philosophy of love in some way. There are, in the modern poetry, many other parallel dualities related to this dualism,

توصف ثنائية النور والعتمة في الشعر الحديث بأنها ثنائية تعكس فلسفة الحب بطريقة تضادية، فالنهار الذي ينشر الضوء على الأرض والحياة يتسم بالوضوح والإبانة والظهور، وقد لا يكون محبذاً في فلسفة الحب لأنه يكشف المحبين، والحب ينطوي على معنى السرية والخفاء، والليل على العكس من ذلك يعني العتمة وعدم الوضوح والغموض مما يلاءم مع فلسفة الحب بشكل ما، وترتبط بهذه الثنائية في الشعر الحديث الكثير من الثنائيات الأخرى الموازية لها، وخاصة ثنائية الحضور والغياب التي تحظى بأهمية واسعة في نماذج كثيرة من الشعر الحديث بمختلف تياراته ومدارسه.} }
