The beginning of the third century AH / ninth century began to show the historical works that collected the various topics related to historical codification, which in turn led to the emergence of a large number of great historians who reported the abundance of historical material and their diversity and their ability to historical research from the date of creation until the late centuries, The history of the death of men or the history of cities. Hence the subject of our research entitled, the oral novel to open the countries in the book of the lexicon of the countries of the Umayyad caliphate of the Umayyad state to focus on the nature of the oral novel and the historical, political, economic, social, cultural and very important. In the Mashreq and Maghreb, the Umayyad state is a model of the book of the lexicon of the countries as a historical book, but not the title, and the source of its accounts. I thought that I would divide the research into an introduction, four questions, a conclusion, and a list of sources and references. The introduction provided a brief overview of the nature of the general conditions witnessed by the reign of Yakut al-Hamawi, and included the political and cultural conditions and the most important centers of science in the cities of the Islamic Arab state. The first topic, the definition of the biography of Sapphire Hamawi as one of the flags and historians of encyclopedias of the history of the Islamic Arab state since the era of the Prophet, peace be upon him and his family until the era of the author. The second topic dealt with the study of the history of the opening of the Levant, the era of the successors of the Umayyad state and the era of expansion in the borders of the Arab Islamic state. The third topic dealt with the accounts of the conquest of the Maghreb and Andalusia by the Umayyad caliphs and the events that the region witnessed during the reign of the Umayyad caliphs.
