Abstract

In this research the effect of the angle between the radioactive source and the detector on the energy spectrum using a system of electronic counting and analysis using pulsed crystallization reagent NaI (Tl) size (2 * 2). for angles (0 ˚, 20 ˚, 40 ˚, 70˚, 90˚)have been studied. the distance between the radioactive source and the detector taken to be 30cm, and tow radioactive source were used Na-22 and Cs-137 . Found from the current study that the total area of the spectrum (total area) and the area under the optical peak, which represents absorption full energy photon gamma rays within the crystal detector, and the interaction that results in the peak is the interaction of the photoelectric is the most important part of the regions of the spectrum as determined by most accounts specify its location or showing the middle of it, because the change (increase) its offer and the middle depending on the energy of the photon interacting with the detector material (direct proportion) or change (increase) or high voltages or the number of channels of amplification analyst and, therefore, is the basis for determining the energy analysis of the detector . In the energy spectrum of gamma rays it is found that they decrease by the change the angle between the radioactive source and the detector, when increasing the angle between the radioactive source and the detector at least the number of photons reaching the detector and recorded 90 ˚ angle less than the number of photons reaching the detector.
