Extensional Knowledge Needs of Hybrid Zea mize Cultivators in Kirkuk Province and Its Relationship with Some Factors

Abstract

The study aims to specify the scientific and extensional requirements in all the fields of growing hybrid corn in Kirkuk province, it will also try to specify the typical circumstance and factor that can support a healthy growth for hybrid corn such as (species, circumstance, blights, growth factors, harvest care of yield, marketing). The study will also try to limit the relationship between corn yield farmers and extension requirement one the one hard, and the following variables (age, education, ownership, size of corn fields, annual corn yield income, other source of income, hybrid corn yield cropping experience, production rate per-donum, source of hybrid corn cropping) on the other, it will identify the problems that encounter the hybrid corn yield farmers in Kirkuk province.The study was applied to (135) farmer that were chosen randomly who from (10%) of hybrid corn yield farmers. To implement the study, we were used a questionnaire of three main parts was conducted the first part was devoted to gather data about the personal skills of the farmers, economical factors and communication. the second part is a test about seven aspects of cropping hybrid corn. The third part deals with the major problems which encounter the farmers. The finding proved that the extensional requirements of the farmers is moderate and tend to raise.The study also finds that there is a negative relationship between the extensional and scientific requirements and the following factors (age, education, ownership, size of corn fields, annual corn yield income, other source of income, hybrid corn yield cropping experience, production rate per-donum, source of hybrid corn cropping), it also shows that’s the size of the land of cropping does not from a problem for the farmers.
