Study the Effect of Adding Citric Acid as a Fuel on the Structural Characteristics of the Nano Spinel Ferrite ( Ni0.1Cu0.2Zn0.7Fe2O4 ) Synthesized by Sol – Gel Auto Combustion Method

Abstract

Nano ferrite (Ni0.1Cu0.2Zn0.7Fe2O4) with (spinal structure) was prepared by using sol-gel auto –combustion method . Citric acid (C6H8O7) was used as a reaction fuel . This paper studied the effect of fuel ratio added to the ferrite and results through changing the molar ratio (Salts : fuel) and the follow:(1:0.1 ,1:0.25 ,1:0.5 ,1:1 ,1:1.5 ) with adjusting a PH of solution around (7).The structural characterization of resulting ferrite was examined by x-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscope (SEM) technique and shows the resulting ferrite possess spinal cubic phase and for all used ratios and increase of fuel content ratio leads to decrease the grain size from (43 nm) to (23 nm) and so decreasing in the theoretical density with increasing in dislocation density value and surface area . The molar ratio(1:1 M) was chosen as the best addition ratio to reaction due to the product had the best texture coefficient among all samples with smaller grain size and lowest internal strain .
