Abstract

Abstract The research paper presents a study for the difficulties in teaching and learning programming languages in Computer Science Departments from the lecturers and students point of view and the exploratory of testing samples and the steps of building research tool and its applications and statistical methods used to analyze the results that used the description methodology in gathering data and information related to the research topic and suggestions with the solutions. The study discusses different programming languages in computer science department, samples of students and lecturers from different levels in which PL are taught when taken into consideration. The proposed system presents results and special forms achieved by the researchers depending on the research goals and then they were discussed and suggestions were proposed to overcome these difficulties and to improve and develop the way of teaching programming languages in our universities.
