Abstract

Pragmatics is considered to be one of the bases that identify the changes in the context, through a number of different techniques and concepts, in order to indicate the connotative meaning behind the intended meaning. This is because pragmatics is concerned with the relation of the signs with their interpreters. Based on this importance, this study tries to indicate a pragmatic perspective of critical speech in Al- Moubarrid book " Al- Kamil in Linguistics and Literature". This is to be achieved by the theory of speech acts, that cares about the accomplishment verbs affecting the addressee, also the theory of conversational commitment that deals with the role of the speaker in identifying the addressee poem through his use of lexical items and meanings
